My Birthday, My Democratic Right to Vote

Monday was the day that most of the Filipinos embraced NoyNoy Aquino's promise to fight the endemic issue of graft and corruption. It was also the eve of the country's automated election. It wasn't as smooth as we have hoped for, but like any other "first", minor glitches are to be expected.

I've been pretty busy several days before the election. I had a dozen of appointments and a field campaign to boot.

This year, Earth Hour will be at 8.30pm on Saturday March 27, 2010. Show your support by turning off your lights for one hour. In Cebu, malls, organizations and individuals have prepared a number of activities for us.

This phrase simply means that if you're in doubt of your existence, that is in and of itself proof that you exist.

But for me, this phrase takes on another meaning.

Cogito, ergo sum.

I think, therefore I am.

The mind is a powerful thing. They say that we're only using 10% of our mind, but in another source, that is just a myth. We are in fact using 100% of our brain.

So with that in mind, let me ask you something:

How well are you using your brain?

Is it hot in here or is it just me and my hairspray? (Thoughts on Climate Change)

You think that that you're awesome just 'coz you know that CFC is chlorofluorocarbon.

You think that climate change really do exists, and yet you say, "Oh well, that's a part of life. Let's just shop, shall we?"

You think you know just coz your science teacher in 4th grade told you everything about the greenhouse effect.

And most of all, you think that you can just sit down and do nothing coz there's a hole in the Antarctic and not in the Philippines, anyway.

Well then, I have bad news for you buddy.

Yesterday, I woke up at around 8 in the morning (late for the event, I know!) I had to get ready fast and be at the Family Park before 10. I really had no idea on who's going to be there or what's going to happen. All I know is that I had to be there. Fast.
